A 40-year-old man died in Tuesday’s explosion at the oxygen workshop in “Saint Gregory the Illuminator” Medical Center in Yerevan.

Vahram Gasparyan, 40, an employee of the same workshop.

Another employee was injured in the face as a result of this explosion and is getting medical assistance at the hospital.

Armenian Prime Minister continues his visit to New York where he is participating in the regular session of the UN General Assembly. On Monday Nikol Pashinyan delivered a speech at the opening of the peace summit dedicated to Nelson Mandela.

The event brought together US President Donald Trump as well as leaders and heads of government from many countries attending the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly.

On the same day Pashinyan together with Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, paid a visit to the Armenia! exhibition that has opened at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The Justice Department has issued an indictment of former non-profit head Kevin Oksuz for his role in a plot to hide the fact that a 2013 congressional delegation trip to Azerbaijan was funded by that country’s government.

The U.S. court charges Oksuz with one count of devising a scheme to falsify, conceal, and cover up material facts from the Ethics Committee and four counts of making false statements to Congress.

A warrant for his arrest was issued earlier this year, Oksuz was recently detained by authorities in Armenia.

Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan filed a lawsuit against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to protect his honor and dignity from public slander.

Robert Kocharyan's attorney Hayk Alumyan told Hetq.am that the reason for submitting a lawsuit was the public statement of Nikol Pashinyan during his visit to France, which referred to Robert Kocharyan.

The first meeting of the Committee on Trade-Related Cooperation between Armenia and the EU held in Yerevan on Tuesday.

The meeting held in Yerevan was co-chaired by Petros Sourmelis, the Head of DG Trade Unit and Mane Adamyan, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia.

“We are sure that the changes indicated by the Armenian Government will only strengthen cooperation with the EU and will promote further development of trade relations,” the EU official said.

EU Ambassador in Armenia, in turn, emphasized that eradicating corruption will give Armenia an opportunity to find new EU partners and attract European investments.

Italian specialist Gianni De Biasi, under whose headship Albania had qualified for Euro 2016, is close to becoming the new manager of the Armenian national football team.

The former head coach of the Albanian national squad is in Yerevan where he is holding talks with the Football Federation of Armenia.

The position for the Armenian national football team manager is vacant ever since Vardan Minasyan resigned last week.
