DOHA: The second edition of the Al Thumama Ramadan Championship, in collaboration with the Qatar Sports for All Federation, has been nothing short of exhilarating at Al Furjan Stadium in Al Thumama. In an exciting series of matches, the young footballers showcased their immense talent and passion for the game.

In a stunning result, Al Adaam pulled off a surprising 2-1 victory against the Palestine team. Despite the challenges of traveling from Gaza to Doha in recent days, the Palestine team displayed great resilience and skill but ultimately fell short. To recognise their efforts, the organizing committee presented an appreciation award to Palestine’s Abdullah Al Khatib.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Al Obaidli of Al Adaam was awarded the Best Player of the Match for his exceptional performance.

The second match saw Al Zaeem and Al Janoub end in a 1-1 draw. Faisal Al Marri from Al Janoub was named Best Player for his influential performance, continuing his strong showing from the first edition of the championship, where he also won the Best Player award. Abdul Qader Al Nahari of Al Zaeem earned the Best Goalkeeper award for his outstanding defensive display.

Tonight, the tournament will continue with three exciting matches starting at 8:30 pm. Al Janoub will face Al Adaam in the first match, followed by Al Zaeem taking on Al Yarmouk. The final match will feature Palestine against Tariq bin Ziyad.

Youssef bin Ali Abdul Nour, the tournament director, expressed his enthusiasm about the high level of competition displayed in the second edition of the championship.

“The matches have been filled with excitement, intensity, and fierce rivalry between all teams,” Abdul Nour said. “Each team is eager to win and compete for the title, and the introduction of the Best Player award has motivated players to showcase their best technical abilities. We’re seeing some incredible performances as a result.”
