Three former men's basketball stars at the University of Kentucky are set to be a part of the 2024 United States Men's National Team in the Paris Olympics this summer.The roster was finalized on Wednesday by National Team managing director Grant Hill and approved by the USA Basketball Board of Directors.The team is star-studded throughout the roster, led by the NBA's all-time leading scorer LeBron James and three-time Olympic champion Kevin Durant.Three former Wildcats — Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker, Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis and Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo — are all set to be a part of the roster this summer.Both Booker and Adebayo previously won Olympic Gold medals in the 2020 Olympics, which was played in the summer of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Davis was a member of the Gold-winning 2012 men's national team for the United States, the same summer that Davis was drafted by the New Orleans Hornets, who later became known as the Pelicans.Of the three former Wildcats, Davis is the only player to also win a national championship in college, leading Kentucky to the 2012 title as he averaged 14.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 4.7 blocks per game. In the NBA, Davis has been named to the All-Star Game nine times and won the 2020 NBA championship with the Lakers.Booker, a shooting guard, was part of the 2014-15 Kentucky team that started the season 38-0 before losing to Wisconsin in the Final Four. While he averaged a respectable 10 points per game on 41 percent 3-point shooting in college, Booker has become a scoring star in the NBA, averaging over 24 points per game for his career while being named an All-Star four times since his 2015 debut.The 26-year-old Adebayo is in the midst of arguably his best professional season to date, averaging a double-double with 19.3 points and 10.4 rebounds per game with the Miami Heat.Adebayo played on the 2017-18 Kentucky team that also featured future NBA starters De'Aaron Fox and Malik Monk and advanced to the Elite Eight before falling to North Carolina.USA Basketball will begin training camp on July 6 in Las Vegas. As part of Group C, the US will face Serbia on July 28, South Sudan on July 31 and the winner of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Puerto Rico on Aug. 3 in the first round of the Olympic tournament.
