Ukraine and Israel sign number of bilateral documents


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine and Israel signed a number of bilateral documents relating to cooperation in agriculture, education, culture and other sectors.

The signing took place in the presence of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of the State of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu in Kyiv on August 19, according to the president's press service.

In particular, Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Olha Trofimtseva and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Ukraine Joel Lion signed a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the State of Israel on cooperation in the field of agriculture.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the State of Israel Hennadii Nadolenko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Ukraine Joel Lion signed an agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education of the State of Israel on promoting the study of the Hebrew language in educational institutions of Ukraine and the study of the Ukrainian language in educational institutions of the State of Israel.

In addition, the ambassadors of the two states signed a program of cooperation in the sectors of education, culture, youth and sports between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the State of Israel for 2019-2022.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Oleksiy Perevezentsev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Ukraine Joel Lion signed a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and the Israel Patent Office of the Ministry of Justice of the State of Israel.

As Ukrinform reported, the official ceremony of a meeting of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was held in Kyiv today.

This is the first visit of the head of the Israeli government to Ukraine over the past 20 years.
