Strathclair’s Conor Geekie and Virden’s Braeden Lewis substituted into the game.

Manitoba followed with a 16-7 victory over Saskatchewan in the evening game as Tweet was 1-for-1 with two walks and a run.

Souris’s Avery Kirkup got on the field, and Geekie pitched in relief.

On the volleyball court, Dauphin’s JJ Love and Brandon’s Colby Carmichael helped Manitoba’s boys pull out a 3-2 (25-18, 30-32, 23-25, 25-21, 17-15) win over Yukon. The Westman duo came in during the third set and then started the fourth and fifth as Manitoba came back from a 2-1 deficit.

Kola’s Maddie Lesnar and the Manitoban girls’ volleyball team swept the Northwest Territories 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-18). Lesnar started in the second set.

At the track, Brandon’s Jorja Hoad and the Manitoba girls’ 4×100-metre relay team won a bronze medal with a time of 48.52 seconds.

Earlier, Hoad snagged the eighth and final spot in the 100-metre girls’ final with a preliminary time of 12.67 seconds, then finished eighth at 12.93 in the final. Princess Margaret Roberts of Alberta won at 12.09.

Carberry’s Rachel Penner threw 27.85 metres in the girls’ javelin final to finish ninth.

In the individual male triathlon, Brandon’s Bryce McComb finished in last out of 18 athletes.
