An unforgivable blunder by the Egyptian cup runners-up's goalkeeper opened the net for Egypt's domestic double champions Al Alhly at a packed Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, crowning the Egyptian giants with the 10th super cup title in their history and corroborating once again Abu Dhabi's position as an international capital for sports practicing, competitiveness and international events.

The 2017 Super Cup was hosted at the same stadium, when Al Ahly beat arch-rivals Zamalek 3-2 in 2015.

What was like a riveting spectacle in Egypt between the two clubs seemed a gift for Egyptian football fans, who nearly filled the 25,000-capacity stadium to see their loved teams.

The Port Said-based club took place in their first ever Super Cup despite losing the 2017 Egypt Cup final to Al Ahly, as the Reds have managed to win the Egyptian Premier League as well.

The Egyptian champions dominated the entire match, and wasted many chances before the rival's goal keeper had the final say.
