Sports Roundup: Burroughs volleyball earns share of league title

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Burroughs d. Hoover, 25-15, 25-15, 25-10: The win Thursday afternoon at home earned the Indians a share of the Pacific League championship.

It is Burroughs’ first league title since 2015.

Maggie Harris had eight kills and Lydia Grote added six for Burroughs (22-3, 12-1 in league).

The Indians can win the outright title with a win at home Tuesday against rival Burbank.

Burbank d. Muir, 25-12, 25-9, 25-13: The Bulldogs stayed in third place in the Pacific League with the win Thursday afternoon at Muir.

Burbank is 15-3-1, 10-3 in league.

Lycee International of Los Angeles d. Waverly, 25-19, 25-15, 25-14: The Lions improved to 9-1 overall and in the International League with the win Thursday afternoon at the Olive Recreation Center.

Providence d Milken Community, 30-28, 25-20, 25-21: Talia Patterson had 18 kills and 13 digs to pace the Pioneers in a Liberty League victory Wednesday evening on the road.

Giselle Camonayan had six kills and 21 digs, Isabella Mahan added 23 digs and Justine Nuñez contributed 28 assists and 10 digs for Providence (12-4, 4-1 in league).

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Arcadia 14, Burbank 4: The Bulldogs lost to the Pacific League champions Thursday afternoon on the road.

Burbank (8-4 in league and overall) finished third in league.
