Aptos’ Nikki Hiltz took fourth place at the Aetna Falmouth Elite Mile in Falmouth, Massachusetts, on Saturday.
Hiltz, the runner-up in the past two NCAA Championships in the 1,500-meter race, finished in 4 minutes, 32.29 seconds. She earned $750 for her finish.
Rachel Schneider of Flagstaff, Arizona, the runner-up at the 2018 USATF Outdoor Nationals in the 5,000, won in 4:27.23. She earned $3,500 for her win and picked up a $1,000 bonus for running a sub-4:31 time.
Boston’s Helen Schlachtenhaufen, runner-up in the 2018 West Chester Mile and a two-time Heptagonals champion for Dartmouth, was second in 4:31.44. Boston’s Cory McGee, who competed for Team USA at the 2013 IAAF World Championships in the 1,500 and was the 2016 USA indoors runner-up, took third in 4:31.56.
Amanda Eccleston of Ann Arbor Michigan, took fifth in 4:36.49.
