The CFL is considering moving the Grey Cup to October. In his State of the League address Friday morning, Commissioner Randy Ambrosie said he welcomes the idea.

But the league commissioner says a season shift will not happen without proper consultation with fans and stakeholders first.

“Imagine playing our Grey Cup in the third week of October when it's beautiful everywhere and you don't have to wear 900 layers of clothing and you don't have to go get your winter boots out,” said Ambroise. “I think through that lens it could be so cool for the Canadian football league to do it.”

Ambrosie says he personally favors the change of date to October, but the proper process must take place before a decision is made.
