Kariobangi Sharks forward Masoud Juma has pleaded with Kenyan fans to exercise restraint, and support their favourite teams regardless of how they fare on during games.

The 21-year old is still basking in glory after a highly successful 2017 campaign. His 17-goals elevated him as the top marksman in the 2017 Kenyan Premier League campaign.

Similarly, no one bettered his six goal haul in the domestic cup this term, a feat he managed in five matches. This form has understandably caught the attention of new Harambee Stars coach Paul Put, who's named him to lead the line at the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup which begins on December 3.

Interestingly, Juma also experienced some challenging spells during the year including three failed attempts to secure a professional career in Sweden and South Africa.

He was also blasted by a section of the supporters after blowing an open chance during Kenya's 2-1 defeat to Sierra Leone in Free Town in June. “Kenyan fans need be patient and support their teams no matter the circumstances,” the former Sony Sugar marksman explained.

“Five months ago, Real Madrid were the best team in the world. Now they are struggling to win matches," Juma told Goal.

Commenting on his missed chance against Sierra Leone, Juma added: “Even (Michael) Olunga missed an open chance in that game. He hit the post. It happens to everyone.”

Juma, who helped Sharks finish third in their first ever season at the top flight, has, meanwhile, trained his sights on extending his impressive scoring streak at the Cecafa tournament, where he claims to be eyeing the top scorer's gong.

The ten-team regional tournament will kick-off in Kisumu and Kakamega on December 3, with Harambee Stars grouped against Rwanda, Tanzania, Zanzibar and South Sudan in Pool ‘A’.
