A low-cost airline is set to launch its first ever flights from Edinburgh Airport to a popular holiday destination this summer.

Pegasus Airlines will operate services between the Scottish capital and Istanbul in Turkey, where they are based, from June 27, flying twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays.

The service will run all year round, connecting Edinburgh to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) for the first time. Announcing the exciting news on X, Edinburgh Airport said: "Now winging its way to EDI, @flymepegasus.

"The airline will arrive at Scotland's busiest airport for the first time with year-round flights to Istanbul, kicking off in June."

Kate Sherry, Chief Commercial Officer (Aero) at Edinburgh Airport said: “We’re really excited to welcome Pegasus to Edinburgh this summer and see another new airline spread its wings in Scotland.
